Artistes entertain audience rendering Lalon songs

Artistes entertained the audience rendering Lalon songs in an online music show on Wednesday.

The programme was organised as part of the on-going virtual Radharaman Lok Sangeet Utsab.

Cultural organisation Radharaman Sangskriti Charcha Kendra has organised the online music festival marking the 150th death anniversary of Sylhet-based dhamail music composer and lyricist Radharaman Dutta.

The festival has been divided into three segments. The first segment was held from November 7 to November 11. The second segment segment, which commenced on November 18, will continue till November 22 and the final segment will be held from November 26 to 30.

The event is being streamed on Radharaman Sangskriti Charcha Kendra’s Facebook page every day at 8:00 pm.

On Wednesday, singers namely Samir Baul and Shahnaz Beli performed at the event. Eminent lyricist Mohammad Rafiquzzaman was present at the programme as discussant. The event was conducted by Mahmud Selim.

Samir Baul commenced the music show rendering Radharaman Dutta’s popular song Bhromor koio giya. Besides, he sang Lalon songs including Eso hey doyal kandari, Snai amar kokhon khelo, Bideshir sange prem koro na and Manush chhara khepare tui.

Shahnaz Beli began her performance singing Radharaman Dutta’s song Shyam kalia sona bandhure. Following which, she rendered Lalon songs Kabe sadhur charan dhuli, Pare loye jao amay, Karimone kam jane na and Barir pashe arshinagar.
