A documentary portraying the life and work of the national poet Kazi Nazrul Islam will be premiered on November 20 at Blockbuster Cinemas, Jamuna Future Park in the capital at 6:00 pm.
The 94-minute documentary titled ‘Biography of Nazrul’ has been directed by Ferdous Khan. Blockbuster Cinemas will screen it with half capacity to contain the spread of novel coronavirus. Viewers will have to purchase tickets for watching the documentary. Besides, a few invited guests will also attend the premiere show.
‘Reading habit has been gradually declining among the youths. So, we decided to make a documentary which will give the viewers a glimpse into the life and works of the national poet Kazi Nazrul Islam. We commenced the shooting for the documentary towards the end of 2018
and completed the shooting in March, 2020. We shot it in both Bangladesh and India. The documentary received censor certificate on July 29, 2020,’ Ferdous Khan told New Age.
‘The documentary will be screened from November 20 to November 26. The ticket price will start from TK 400. We are looking forward to screening the documentary at educational institutions, if the COVID-19 situation improves. I hope viewers will enjoy it,’ added Ferdous.
The documentary has been produced under the banner of Nazrul Centre in association with Ratnadweep Resort, TVS motors, Bio-Xin Cosmeceuticals and others. Al Amin Khan is the producer and Kabi Nazrul Institute former executive director Ekram Ahmed is the advisor of the production.
