Former national volleyball team coach Golam Rasul Khan Mehedi died of COVID-19 at a city hospital on Friday morning.
He was 67.
The ex-national volleyball player Mehedi left behind his wife, two sons and host of well-wishers to mourn his death.
Mehedi was laid to rest at his family graveyard at his village home in Chandina of Cumilla after Maghrib prayer, informed his son Sajib Khan.
Mehedi was the coach of Bangladesh women’s volleyball team during the 2019 South Asian Games and was working as the Bangladesh Volleyball Federation’s coaching committee secretary until his death.
