Revolutionary Workers’ Party of Bangladesh on Sunday alleged that the dishonest businessmen’s syndicates were controlling the government and that social anarchy was spreading as there was no effective governance.
Leaders of the party, addressing a rally near the secretariat in the capital, protesting against the commodity price hike, murders and violence against women, also alleged that the businessmen’s syndicate had held people hostage to them only for profiteering.
They alleged that the government’s market monitoring system had collapsed and low income people were suffering most in this situation while the government had no political and ethical power to run the country.
Addressing the rally as the chair, RWP general secretary Saiful Huq alleged that the rapists, corrupts, terrorists and market syndicates were getting political and administrative backing for which people were not getting remedy of any problem.
He urged all democratic and patriotic forces to unite and take to streets to ensure people’s right to vote and food.
Nagarik Oikya convener Mahmudur Rahman Manna alleged that the government was backing the corrupt ones and unleashed reign of oppression on the opposition political forces.
Left Democratic Alliance coordinator and Communist Party of Bangladesh leader Abdullah Al Kafi Ratan, Ganosamhati Andolan chief coordinator Zonayed Saki and RWP leaders Bahnishikha Jamali and Akbar Khan also spoke.
