Dhaka Metropolitan Police additional deputy commissioner Ahshan Khan said on Sunday that they would soon file a charge-sheet after arresting the lone accused in a recent murder case of readymade garments worker.
Readymade garment worker Fazlul Haque Ripon was killed over an alleged affair with a married woman in the capital’s Pallabi area on October 25.
The detective branch of police arrested the woman’s son Nayan at a spot in Keraniganj area on the charge of the murder on October 26.
Arrested Nayan gave confessional statement before a Dhaka metropolitan magistrate court on Thursday.
Ahshan Khan told New Age on Sunday that they have solved the case and arrested sole accused and would submit the charge-sheet soon.
Accused Nayan had worked at a shop for the last five years. He was angry over an alleged affair of the victim with his mother, said Ahshan.
Nayan asked Ripon not to come to their home in Mirpur-11 for several times, but Ripon did not pay attention.
According to the police, Nayan was sleeping while his family members were outside their home on the night of October 25.
He became furious when he woke up and he saw Ripon in their house and that resulted in a brawl. .
At one stage, Nayan stabbed Ripon on his chest and fled the home.
His mother Parvin Akher rushed Ripon to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
Nayan was produced before a Dhaka Court and placed on one-day remand after his arrest. He later confessed to killing Ripon in the court, police said.
