Loss of Bata Shoe Limited climbed to Tk 122 crore during the first nine-month period ending on September 30 due to coronavirus fallout.
The company made a profit of Tk 32.16 crore during January to September period last year.
The board of directors of the company approved the financial results on Thursday.
According to the company’s financial statement, loss per share of the company reached to Tk 89.23 for January-September, 2020 against Tk 23.51 profit during the same period last year.
The company incurred Tk 37.55 per share loss for July-September against Tk 3.56 profit for July-September last year.
The company in its financial statement said that profit after tax dropped compared to the same period last year due mainly to lower sales amid COVID-19 pandemic.
Bata Shoe mainly engaged in manufacturing and marketing of leather, rubber, plastic, canvas footwear, hosiery and accessories items. Manufacturing plants of the company are located at Tongi and Dhamrai.
