The parliamentary standing committee on environment, forest and climate change ministry on Monday recommended enhancing drives against the forest grabbers.
The meeting, chaired by Saber Hossain Chowdhury, also asked the department to present detailed documents regarding total grabbed land of the forest in its next meeting.
In the meeting, the forest department presented the list of the land that they recovered from the grabbers in Dhaka, Tangail, Gazipur, Mymensingh and Sylhet recently.
The forest department also informed the committee that forest guards in the Sundarbans get incentives and the department was planning to introduce such incentives for all forest guards across the country to stimulate them.
The forest department officials further said that they were also considering introducing risk allowance for the employees.
Environment and forest minister Md Shahab Uddin, deputy minister Habibun Nahar and other standing committee members Md Rezaul Karim Bablu, Khodeja Nasrin, Aktar Hossain and Md Shahin Chaklader were present at the 16th meeting of the committee.
