2 children wounded in explosion

20 bombs found

Border Guard Bangladesh personnel seized a total of 20 crude bombs at a rented house of port labourers on the Putkhali frontier on Tuesday.

The explosives were recovered in a raid at around 1:30am, said Subedar Shahid Hossain, in-charge, Putkhali BGB camp. Further details were not yet known.

Meanwhile, two minor children were wounded in a bomb explosion on the rooftop of Mahmudur Rahman Primary School in Ghope of Jashore town on Monday evening.

The incident took place as a crude bomb exploded while they were playing with it assuming it to be a ball, hospital and police sources said.

The wounded Swapan, 11, and Mehedi, 9, were rushed to Jashore General Hospital with critical injuries in the hands.

Local people said the children were wounded as the bomb exploded suddenly while they were trying to remove the tape of the bomb.

Mohammad Touhidul Islam, additional superintendent of police, said that the police were investigating the matter.
