BGB seizes 3.5 lakh Yaba tablets in Cox’s Bazar

Members of Border Guard Bangladesh seized 3.50 lakh pieces of contraband Yaba tablets worth Tk 10.50 crore at Ledha Churikhal of Hinllha union of Teknaf upazila in Cox’s Bazar Tuesday night.

Lieutenant Colonel Md Faisal Hasan Khan, commanding officer of BGB battalion of Teknaf, said that tipped off, a team of BGB of Ledha BOP conducted a drive in the area at about 11:00pm and challenged a boat which was coming from Myanmar through the River Naf.

Sensing presence of BGB the smugglers fled away.

Later, the BGB team recovered the Yaba tablets, kept in four plastic bags, from the boat.

A case was filed with Teknaf police station in this connection.
