Film Development Corporation-based eighteen organisations postponed its Tuesday’s human chain protest demanding the removal of Bangladesh Film Artistes’ Association president Misha Sawdagar and its general secretary Zayed Khan from the executive body of BFAA and FDC premises.
President of Bangladesh Film Directors’ Association Mushfiqur Rahman Gulzar confirmed it to New Age.
‘The FDC-based organisations postponed its Tuesday’s human chain demanding permanent removal of Bangladesh Film Artistes’ Association president Misha Sawdagar and its general secretary Zayed Khan from Film Development Corporation and executive committee of Bangladesh Film Artistes’ Association. The decision of staging the human chain was postponed at a short meeting on Monday evening,’ said Mushfiqur Rahman Gulzar.
‘In the meeting we also decided to meet senior artistes as soon as possible regarding this issue and we will decide on our next course of action later,’ added Gulzar.
Misha Sawdagor was re-elected president of Bangladesh Film Artistes’ Association defeating actress Arifa Pervin Zaman Moushumi in the biennial election held on October 25, 2019.
The Misha-Zayed panel also won by a landslide, securing 18 out of 21 posts.
