The annual urs marking the 12th death anniversary of Syed Hamidullah (Ra) was held in Mia Shaheb's Maidan Darbar Sharif at Luxmibazar in old town of Dhaka on Thursday.
A daylong programme, including qurankhwani, waz mahfil, putting new gilab, hamd, naat and religious discussion on the life and activities of Sufi Hamidullah, widely known as 8th gaddinissian pir of this khanqah sharif, was held to mark the day.
The programme began with the recitation of verses from the Quran by Mohammad Ishtiaq Sazzadur Rahman, Md Faruq and Mohammad Rahmatullah.
A milad mahfil was held after the magrib prayers, and the akheri munajat was conducted by Syed Ahamadur Rahim (Damat barakatuhum), present ninth gaddinashin pir and fifth mutawalli of Abu Yousuf Abdullah (Ra) Waqf Estate and director of Shah Saheb Bari Jame Masjid.
Shah Saheb Bari Jame Masjid Khatib Jabed Omar Al-Kaderi and other Islamic scholars participated in the discussion.
Tabarak was distributed among the devotees by convener of the programme Saiyed Toiyab Morshed Araf, said a press release.
