Master plan passed for DU redecoration

The Dhaka University authorities have adopted a mega plan, first of its kind, to redecorate the century old university through effective implementation of all types of infrastructure development to increase the aesthetic beauty of the campus.

The plan includes developing infrastructure and technological facilities to gain academic excellence of students, improving accommodation facilities, building a world class library, transport services with parking facilities, more greenery on the campus, modernising gymnasium and medical centre of the university.

It also includes beautification of the campus, improving water management system, renovating playground and developing solar energy-based power facility.

The university syndicate, the highest decision making body of the university, approved the plan on Thursday night at a meeting with vice chancellor Akhtaruzzaman in the chair, said a press release.

The VC thanked the government for granting special financial fund for the master plan, the release read.

The plan was prepared on expertise opinions and would be forwarded to the government soon.
