Workers Party of Bangladesh president Rashed Khan Menon on Thursday said that a huge number of people would be jobless in the country due to coronavirus pandemic.
The number of poor people would be increased which may trigger social unrests during the post-COVID-19 period, Menon said while speaking to the leaders of the party’s Brahmanbaria district unit virtually.
Menon instructed the party’s district president Kazi Masud Ahmed to remain beside coronavirus- infected people and their families in the area and inspire them to maintain health guidelines.
President of Workers Party Dhaka City unit Abul Hossain and general secretary Khishore Roy, meanwhile, in a statement expressed concern over India’s sudden ban on onion export.
