One of the injured in Narsingdi stabbing incident died while undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital Wednesday morning.

The deceased was identified as Kulsum Begum, 24.

Her parents Tajul Islam and Monwara Begum were earlier hacked to death by their tenant Badal Mia at Kumradi village in Shibpur upazila on Sunday.

Badal’s wife Nazma Begum, 40, was also hacked to death.

Kulsum died in the morning and Badal’s teenager son Sohag was undergoing treatment at DMCH, said Shibpur police inspector (investigation) Abul Kalam.

The carpenter in his fifties, Badal, hacked his wife, house owner and his wife to death at village Kumradi of Shibpur in Narsingdi Sunday morning, police said.

Badal was then arrested in injured condition and now undergoing treatment in Narsingdi General Hospital.

Villagers said that Badal and his wife Nazma were locked into an altercation over family affairs at about 6:00am and minutes later Badal hacked his wife with a knife.

Hearing Nazma’s scream, her stepson Sohag called Tajul, who, together with his wife and daughter, rushed to the spot and tried to save her.

Nazma died on the spot, they said, adding that furious Badal then began to hack Tajul and Monwara indiscriminately.
