COVID-19 claims 21, infects 1,615 more in Bangladesh

COVID-19 claimed an additional 21 lives and infected 1,615 more people in the past 24 hours on Wednesday in Bangladesh, accumulating the death toll to 4,823 and infections to 3,42,671.

Among the diseased, 16 were male and five were female patients.

A Directorate General of Health Services press release came up with the latest COVID-19 data. 

Some 13,360 specimens were tested at 94 labs across the country in the past 24 hours.

Bangladesh had tested a total of 17,70,106 specimens as of September 16.

A total of 2,375 patients were declared free from novel coronavirus infection in the past 24 hours totalling the recovery to 2,47,969.

Bangladesh on March 8 reported the first COVID-19 positive cases while the first death was logged ten days later on March 18.
