Chowdhury’s test report came out positive on Tuesday, said a press release of the ministry, adding that he was now in isolation at his residence and doing well.
Khalid is the fifth Bangladeshi minister to be tested positive for COVID-19.
Liberation war affairs minister AKM Mozammel Huq was infected with the novel coronavirus in June but recovered later.
Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs minister Bir Bahadur U Shwe Sing was tested positive for COVID-19 in June and recovered.
