Artistes pay tribute to Rajanikanta Sen

Bangladesh Sangeet Sangathan Samannay Parishad organises an online programme marking the 110th death anniversary of late renowned poet, lyricist and composer Rajanikanta Sen on Sunday.

Artistes paid tribute to the late renowned poet, lyricist and composer Rajanikanta Sen in an online programme organised by Bangladesh Sangeet Sangathan Samannay Parishad on Sunday.

The programme, titled ‘Shonao Tomar Amrita Bani’, was arranged marking the 110th death anniversary of Rajanikanta Sen, who died on September 13, 1910.

Singer Shreyasi Roy, Bishwajit Roy and Mahmud Selim performed at the programme, anchored by popular Nazrul Sangeet singer Sujit Mustafa.

Artistes rendered Rajanikanta Sen’s songs addressing patriotism, human relationship, devotion and others at the programme which was streamed live on the Facebook page of Bangladesh Sangeet Sangathan Samannay Parishad at 7:30pm.

Bishwajit Roy commenced the programme rendering Rajanikanta Sen’s song Ami dekhechi jiban bhare. Besides, he sang Oma koler chele, Jodi par hote tor and others.

Shreyasi Roy sang Shonao tomar amrita bani, Dhir samire chanchal nire, Jekhane se doyal amar and others.

Mahmud Salim sang Tumi nirmal karo mangal kore, Ami akriti adham bole, Ami to tomare chahini jibane and others.

Besides, the artistes shared their thoughts on Rajanikanta Sen.
