Leaders of the Democratic Left Alliance on Thursday at a protest rally called on the Awami League government to take steps to stop extra judicial killings in the country and hold a fair trial of the killers of retried army major Sinha Mohammad Rashed Khan.
Sinha was killed in Cox’s Bazar marine driver area on July 31 in police firing.
LDA, a combine of eight left-leaning political parties, held the protest rally in front of the National Press Club, where its coordinator Bazlur Rashid Firoz chaired.
Communist Party of Bangladesh joint general secretary Sazzad Zahir Chandan, Socialist Party of Bangladesh central leader Razequzzaman Ratan, SPB (Marxist) central leader Manas Nandi, Democratic Revolutionary Party central leader Shahidul Islam Sabuj, among others, spoke at the rally.
The rally was followed by a protest procession that paraded deferent city roads.
