Thespian couple Ramendu, Ferdausi contract COVID-19

Acclaimed thespian couple Ramendu Majumdar and Ferdausi Majumdar has been tested positive for COVID-19.

Ramendu Majumdar, also honorary president of ITI, confirmed the matter to New Age on Friday.

Ramendu Majumdar said, ‘Ferdausi caught a fever in the middle of July. Besides, she has been suffering from urine infection. She went to the hospital on July 18 to have urine and blood tests. She also gave swab samples for COVID-19 test and the test result came back positive. So I decided to get tested for COVID-19, gave swab samples on July 24, and my result came back positive as well.’

‘We have been self-isolating. We are following our doctor’s guidance and taking necessary medications. We are feeling much better nowadays. We will get swab tests soon to check if we still have coronavirus or not. I urge all to pray for our recovery,’ added Ramendu.

Ferdausi Majumdar received the Independence Award in 2020 and Ekushey Padak in 1998 and Ramendu Majumdar received Ekushey Padak in 2009 for their contributions to theatre and culture.
