Developer found dead in Bashundhara

A property developer was found dead in an under-construction building of Bashundhara residential area’s M-block in the capital on Friday morning, hours after he was called out of home. 

The businessman, Abul Khayer, 50, owner of Sajib Builders, lived in Bashundhara residential area with his family, said police.

The victim’s brother Abdul Bari Bablu said that Khayer left home responding to a phone call on Thursday evening and did not return.

The family searched for him at night, but could not find. Later, they informed Vatara police of the matter.

Khayer’s body was found in an under construction building of Bashundhara residential area’s M block on Friday morning, said Vatara police officer-in-charge Moktaruzzaman.

Abdul Bari said that his brother was a real estate businessman. Recently he bought a land in Bashundhara residential area and there were some disputes over the matter.

Khayer discussed the matter with Bari and he advised him to solve the problem, said Bari.

The family suspected that the killers are known person, otherwise he would not leave the house getting the phone call.

OC Moktaruzzaman said that there were marks of injuries in the victim’s head. Police primarily suspected it a murder.

However, policed are investigating the matter, he added.
