Bangladesh to send relief to Lebanon

Bangladesh has decided to send food, medical team and aid to Lebanon to assist them in the explosion that took place on Tuesday.

Bangladesh foreign minister AK Abdul Momen spoke in this regard with Lebanese foreign minister Charbel Wehbe over phone on Wednesday, said a foreign ministry press release.

Momen also expressed his gratitude to the Lebanese government for its overall cooperation, including the treatment of Bangladeshis injured in the explosion.

At least four Bangladeshis were killed and about 100, including 21 soldiers of Bangladesh Navy, were injured in the two back-to-back explosions at the port of the Lebanese capital Beirut on Tuesday.

The battleship BN Bijoy was also damaged during the explosion.
