Japanese ambassador to Bangladesh Ito Naoki has hoped that Japan and Bangladesh would continue to work closely for developing the economic partnership between the countries which would encourage more Japanese investment in Bangladesh’s export processing zones as well as the BEPZA Economic Zone, said a press release.
He made the remark during his recent visit to the BEPZA Complex in Dhaka.
He thanked BEPZA for providing the best support and assistance to Japanese investors of the EPZs and praised BEPZA’s role in attracting foreign direct investment to Bangladesh.
The ambassador said that some Japanese firms were intending to relocate their business and were searching for new destinations for supply chain adjustments. Bangladesh may grab this opportunity maintaining the business competitiveness, he added.
Welcoming the ambassador at his office, BEPZA executive chairman Major General S M Salahuddin Islam said that BEPZA always gave priority to business-related issues of Japanese investors to run their business smoothly.
