Child artistes entertain audience in virtual cultural show

Child artistes entertained the audience presenting songs, dance recitals and recitations in a virtual programme held on Monday.

Moitry Theatre organised the event to promote cultural practices among children amid COVID-19 epidemic. The programme was streamed live on the Facebook page of the troupe at 8:00pm.

Child artistes namely Sornali Hossain Tithi, Nabila Tabassum, Abdullah Ayon, Mushfiqur Rahman Bijoy, Shifa Akter and Atik Hasan participated in the programme, anchored by Niaz Ahmed.

Sornali Hossain Tithi commenced the programme reciting Tamanna Sarowar’s poem ‘Sara Bishwer Bismay Tumi Amar Ahangkar’, Nabila Tabassum performed a dance recital synchronised with Tagore’s song Rimjhim ghano ghano re, Abdullah Ayon rendered a Nazrul song Poush toder daak diyechhe and Mushfiqur Rahman Bijoy recited Tegore’s poem ‘Sonar Tori’.

‘Moitry Theatre began its journey in 2015. We believe that cultural activities can play an important role in making people aware about anomalies in society. We arranged this virtual programme to give children artistes a platform amid the epidemic,’ said Niaz Ahmed.
