Faridpur-based recitation artistes entertained poem lovers at a virtual show held on Tuesday night.
Recitation troupe Ankur Abritti Charcha Kendra organised the programme marking its 8th founding anniversary, which was streamed live on its Facebook page at 8:00pm.
The programme, titled ‘Ankur Abritti Utsab 2020’, featured poem recitation and discussions. President of Ankur Abritti Charcha Kendra Abu Sufian Chowdhury presided over the event, hosted by Rakibul Haque.
Recitation artistes of the troupe namely Kumar Lablu, Shahadat Hossain Liton, Pritilata Ghosh, Nayma Sahadat, Anjuman Julia, Alvi Nahian, Ahsan Ullah Tomal and others recited poems by leading poets at the programme.
Kumar Lablu commenced the programme reciting Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore’s poem ‘Banglar Mati Banglar Jol’. Besides, he recited Shakti Chattopadhyay’s poem ‘Jakhan Brishti Namlo’, Nirmalendu Goon’s ‘Ami Aj Karo Rakta Chaite Ashini’ and others.
Shahadat Hossain Liton recited national poet Kazi Nazrul Islam’s poem ‘Namo Namo Namo Bangladesh Mamo’, Mahadev Saha’s ‘Benche Achhi Swapna Manush’, Syed Shamsul Haq’s poem ‘Paraner Gahin Bhitar’ and others.
Pritilata Ghosh recited Rabindranath Tagore’s poem ‘Jatri’, Mohammad Shahidul Islam Rajon’s poem, ‘Baba’ and others.
Nayma Sahadat recited Nirmalendu Goon’s poem ‘Ami Jeno Kabitay Sheikh Mujiber Katha Boli’ marking the birth centenary of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. She also recited ‘Dam Diye Kinechi Bangla’ and others.
‘Recitation is an art form which has the power to change the mindset. Ankur Abritti Charcha Kendra began its journey in 2012 to promote recitation among younger generation in Faridpur district. Every year we celebrate its founding anniversary arranging various programmes but due to the coronavirus crisis this year we arranged a virtual programme. I thank all who have been with us during our journey,’ said Abu Sufian Chowdhury.
