Bangladesh Nationalist Party on Monday wanted to know why the godfathers behind the fraud organisations, Regent Hospital and JKG Healthcare, were still untouched.
The party senior joint-secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi raised the question while inaugurating a medical camp at BNP central office in Dhaka for treatment of patients having COVID-19 symptoms.
Homeopathic Doctors’ Association of Bangladesh organised the programme presided over by its president Shafiqul Alam Nadim.
The BNP leader termed absconding Regent Hospital owner Md Shahed and arrested JKG Healthcare chairperson Sabrina Arif Chowdhury as ruling Awami League members and wanted to know the names of the powerful godfathers behind the fake COVID-19 report scam.
He said that the law enforcement agencies would not be able to catch ‘big fishes’ as they were powerful people of the government.
He alleged that the AL men and relatives of ministers were involved in N-95 mask and ventilator scams and said that Regent Hospital owner Shahed had relation with leaders of AL and that he was a member of AL’s international affairs sub-committee.
The BNP leader alleged that the government was allowing ruling party men’s corruption that had been endangering people’s life and were suppressing and torturing the opposition BNP leaders and activists when they had been criticising the government’s failure and misdeeds.
