Minor boy killed in Monipur, cousin held

The body of a minor boy was recovered from a septic tank in capital’s Monipur area on Friday evening.

The deceased was identified as Siam Sheikh.

Police arrested cousin Rakib suspecting him as the murderer of the eight-year-old boy.

Mirpur police station officer-in-charge Mostajirur Rahman said that the boy lived with his father in West Monipur area.

His father Bashar Sheikh is the caretaker of a building there.

Siam was missing since Thursday and his father filed a missing general diary with the police station.

He suspected Rakib since the boy was missing. Police detained and interrogated Rakib, who later confessed to killing the boy and hide his body.

With his information police later recovered the body from a septic tank in the evening.
