Ministry of youth and sports on Thursday sought advice from sports organisers on how they could resume the indoor games of the country, especially the games which didn’t require body contact.
The ministry will take the final decision after a meeting with the ministry of health and family welfare next week.
‘We will talk to the ministry of health and family welfare next week and the decision will be made after having their opinion,’ said state minister for youth and sports Zahid Ahsan Russell after the meeting.
Russell also asked the federation organisers to submit their plan of how they want to resume sports and training activities by ensuring health safety with government directives.
All sporting events and activities, excluding archery camp, of the country were suspended following the ministry’s instruction on March 16 due to coronavirus pandemic.
But later the archery camp at the Shaheed Ahsan Ullah Master Stadium in Tongi was also cancelled on March 25 due to the spread of the virus.
General secretaries of swimming, shooting, volleyball, weightlifting, karate, archery and taekwondo federations and women’s sports associations attended the meeting among others.
