A Dhaka court on Tuesday allowed police to interrogate three people for one day each on charges of selling banned sexual stimulants and illegal drugs through social media advertisements.
The accused are Mohammad Fahim, 22, Altaf Mridha, 23, and Helal Uddin, 49.
Police placed the three at the court of Dhaka metropolitan magistrate Tofazzal Hossain with a prayer to question them for seven days on Tuesday.
The case was filed against them under the Special Powers Act with Gulshan Police Station following the arrest of the people by the Anti-Terrorism Unit of police.
ATU arrested Fahim at Gulshan-2 area on Sunday evening and later detained Altaf and Helal.
The police also seized about Tk 1.62 lakh, two mobiles, 5,040 pieces of Yaba tablets and five kilograms of banned sexual stimulant gels from them.
According to the ATU, Fahim used a Facebook page titled Online Service to extort money from people and sell drugs, sexually arousing products etc. to them.
During primary interrogation, Fahim said that he was used to collect the products from Altaf and Helal and sold those online.
