Loko Natyadal’s 39th anniv celebrated virtually

The 39th founding anniversary of Loko Natyadal was celebrated by two factions namely Loko Natyadal and Loko Natyadal (Banani) virtually on Monday.

Loko Natyadal arranged a virtual programme on its Facebook page at 8:00 pm. The event titled ‘Loko Natyadaler 39 Tama Protistha Barshiki’ featured songs, recitation and discussion. Besides, its members read from the troupe’s plays to the delight of the audience. The guests and troupe’s members participated in the programme from their homes.

Loko Natyadal president Liaquat Ali Lucky presided over the discussion while Shamima Tusty anchored the show.

People’s Theatre Association secretary general Kristee Hefaz,  playwright Mahfuza Hilali along with the former and present troupe members of Loko Natyadal including Monir Ahmed, Ziauddin Shipon, Alpana Haq, Monir Hasan, Farhana Mili, Momen, Shishir Roy, Sujon Mahbub and others attended the programme.

The speakers congratulated Loko Natyadal for successfully completing almost four decades as a theatre troupe.

Monir Ahmed said, ‘I am very glad to attend the event. Loko Natyadal has faced many ups and downs during its 39 year-long journey. The troupe has produced many timeless plays till date and secured a firm place in country’s theatre scene.’

Following the discussion, Loko Natyadal members read selected parts from the troupe’s plays like ‘Tapaswi O Tarangini’, ‘Sonai Madhab’, ‘Amra Tinjan’, ‘Obak Jalpan’ and others.

Loko Natyadal (Banani) arranged a virtual programme on its Facebook page. The event featured a discussion and songs. Besides, members of the troupe read selected parts from different plays.

Thespian Ramendu Majumdar, Sammilita Sangskritik Jote president Ghulam Quddus, executive member of the troupe Abdullah Al Harun, Ananta Hira, Debaprosad Debnath and others attended the virtual programme, anchored by Mujahidul Islam Selim.
