Dhaka Bank recently observed its 25th founding anniversary in a modest manner for the coronavirus pandemic at the bank’s proposed head office at Gulshan in Dhaka, said a press release.
The bank organised a prayer session on the occasion following the health and social distancing guidelines issued by the health ministry over the pandemic.
Dhaka Bank’s Gulshan corporate branch was also inaugurated during the occasion.
The bank’s chairman, Reshadur Rahman, founder Mirza Abbas Uddin Ahmed, former chairman ATM Hayatuzzaman Khan, directors Altaf Hossain Sarker, Md Amirullah, Abdullah Al Ahsan and Mirza Yasser Abbas were present at the programme.
Its founder chairman and director Abdul Hai Sarker, vicechairman Tahidul Hossain Chowdhury, directors Jashim Uddin and Mohammed Hanif, independent directors Md Muzibur Rahman and AS Salahuddin Ahmed joined the programme through video conferencing.
Former director Khandaker Mohammad Shahjahan, managing director and CEO Emranul Huq and a small number of employees were also present at the programme.
Reshadur, in his speech, paid homage to the nation’s founding president, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, on the occasion of the year of his birth centenary.
Emranul later delivered a speech for the bank’s customers, shareholders and well-wishers on social media.
