The special chartered flight to Paris and New York arranged by healthcare management company GD Assist for the expatriate Bangladeshis, departed from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka early Sunday, said a press release.
Approximately 150 passengers were on board the special flight that left for Paris and New York at about 3:30am.
Since the global lockdown came into effect, GD Assist has been actively trying to facilitate the return of the expatriate Bangladeshis stranded in Bangladesh.
GD Assist flew back more than 200 United States immigrants, immigrant visa holders and green card holders to Chicago last month.
The flight to Paris and NY is part of the same initiative that facilitates the return of the Non Resident Bangladeshis to their regular lives abroad.
Since April 2020, GD Assist has successfully carried out evacuations to three continents, six destinations and served more than 600 people in the process who were stranded home and abroad amid the global lockdowns imposed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
GD Assist managing director Syed Moinuddin Ahmed said, ‘Approximately 150 passengers are on board the flight to Paris and New York that departed from Dhaka earlier today morning. This is the second time we are operating a special flight for the expatriate Bangladeshis and we are thankful to the ministry of foreign affairs and Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh for their unconditional support in this matter.’
GD Assist, a venture of Green Delta Insurance Company Limited, is the largest healthcare management company of Bangladesh working in medical tourism for Bangladeshis.
