Former BNP state minister Gisauddin dies

Former state minister and Shariatpur district BNP unit’s advisory council member TM Giasuddin died at Green Life Medical College and Hospital in Dhaka on Friday night. He was 83.

He died at about 10:00pm while undergoing treatment for fever and diabetes, said BNP chairperson’s press wing member Shamsuddin Didar.

He said that Giasuddin is survived by his two daughters and a son.

Giasuddin was president of Obaidur Rahman Smriti Sangsad, former district BNP president, and former state minister of relief and rehabilitation ministry.

BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and Shariatpur district unit former BNP president Shafiqur Rahman Kiron expressed deep shock at the death of TM Giasuddin.

His namaz-e-janaza was held at Mohammadpur Tajmahal Road Jame Mosque after Zuhr prayers on Saturday and he was later buried at Tajmahal Road graveyard.
