Bangladesh Football Federation is providing physical and mental support for female footballers of all levels to keep them engaged during the COVID-19 pandemic, said the federation in a statement on Wednesday.

In the programme named ‘Make it Count’, the BFF has divided all female footballers into specific age groups and placed them under the supervision of national women’s team coach Golam Rabbani Choton, Mahabubur Rahman Litu, Suinu Pro Marma and Mahmuda Akter.

The players were given individualised programmes to help them maintain their fitness and were also encouraged to speak about their mental state with members of staff.

Chairman of the women’s committee Mahfuza Akhter Kiron hoped to continue this initiative till the situation allows normal football activities to resume.

‘We hope to continue to develop our female players with a proactive approach and continuous support for all of them. We hope to get our female age groups back on the field as soon as possible,’ she said.
