Children with special need entertained the audience presenting songs, dance recitals and others at a virtual programme organised by Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy on its official Facebook page on Sunday.
The event featured discussion and cultural show where Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy director general Liaquat Ali Lucky gave the welcome speech.
‘I think that the children with special need have special powers. The academy has been regularly arranging programmes where such children can perform and receive honorarium,’ said Liaquat Ali Lucky.
The programme, held under the academy’s initiative titled ‘Art Against Corona’, featured cultural performances by children from eight districts under Rajshahi division.
Selim Reza from Chapainawabganj rendered Boro asha kore esechhi go kachhe tene nao, Nazifa Taznin from Bagura sang Bhupen Hazarika’s song Bimurta ei ratri amar, Shahnewaz Kadir Shohag from Naogaon rendered Keu konodin amare toh katha dilo na, Saimum Sagik Joy from Joypurhat rendered Tumi jatir pita bishwa neta shrestha bangali and Amra tomay jabo na bhule. Besides, children from Pabna and Sirajganj performed at the programme.
Pooja Bishwas from Natore presented a dance recital synchronised with a folk song and Rajshahi-based Shefa Khatun presented a dance recital synchronised with the song Phagun haoyay haoyay korechhi je daan.
Besides, singers Quazi Krishnakali Islam and Arko Sumon paid tribute to the children rendering songs like Aaaj jhor bhalobasha, Anadndey bheshejaoa and Bahlobashi bhalobashi.
BSA public relations officer Hasan Mahmud and BSA artiste Tamanna Tithi anchored the programme.
