Former Bangladesh national volleyball team player Mominul Islam died of coronavirus at a city hospital on Tuesday.
He was 55.
He left behind his wife, three sons and host of well-wishers to mourn his death.
Mominul, who was admitted at the Kuwait-Bangladesh Friendship Hospital on Sunday, served the national team throughout the 1980s, said Bangladesh Volleyball Federation general secretary Ashikur Rahman Miku.
Mominul was holding the general manager post of the Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution Company Limited until his death.
Bangladesh Volleyball Federation, Bangladesh Olympic Association and some other sports organisations condolled Mominul’s death through media release.
