The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers organised its Region 10 Symposium (TENSYMP) 2020 from June 5 to June 7.
Representatives from Bangladesh and Asia Pacific Region took part in the first full virtual conference of the organisation. This conference was the 8th of its kind, said a press release.
IEEE is a technical professional organisation with more than 4 lakh members from 160 countries.
IEEE president Toshio Fukuda and vice-president Kukjin Chun joined the inaugural ceremony and IEEE R10 advisory committee member Lawrence Wong attended the closing ceremony.
IEEE R10 director Akinori Nishihara was present in both events.
The general chair of the conference was Celia Shahnaz and technical programme chair was Shaikh Fattah. Both of them were from the EEE department of BUET.
In spite of COVID19 pandemic, TENSYMP 2020 received 1,030 valid technical papers involving 2,308 authors from 19 countries.
Only 446 high-quality papers were accepted including more than 100 foreign papers.
The conference hosted 50 keynote talks from foreign speakers and 135 session chairs from 15 countries.
In this conference, research works related to electrical, electronics, power, renewable energy, communication, signal processing, computer, ICT, AI, IOT, security, biomedical, robotics and some cutting edge technologies were presented.
