Bangladesh’s women FIDE Master Noshin Anjum finished 15th in the girls section of the Asian Junior and Girls Chess Championship-2020 held online on Wednesday. Noshin won four out of her nine games to finish with four points in the competition, which was organised by the Asian Chess Federation. Chinese women FIDE Master Ning Kaiyu won the gold medal with seven points and Munkhzul Turmunkh of Mongolia became runners-up with same points while Arpita Mukherjee of India won bronze with 6.5 points. Chammpion Kaiyu received prize money of USD 750, while Turmunkh and Arpita were awarded USD 500 and USD 250 respectively. The final phase of the open section will be held today where International Master Mohammad Fahad Rahman and Tahsin Tajwar Zia from Bangladesh will participate. — New Age
