BUP wins Idea Innovation Contest

The Team Cognitive Dissonance from the Department of Business Administration in Finance and Banking of Bangladesh University of Professionals clinched the championship title in the Idea Innovation Contest 2020, powered by Interactive Cares.

The team, consisting of Zeba Samiha, Rashik Hassan, Kazi Lamisa Medha and Mysha Maliha, participated against 252 teams from 30 Universities from all over Bangladesh.

The competition, comprising of 3 rounds, provided a platform for students to come up with ingenious ideas and to develop their businesses.

The participants were asked to come up with profitable business ideas that would sustain even during the COVID-19 pandemic, said a press release.

The judges panel consisted of various industry leaders like Tina F Jabeen (adviser, Startup Bangladesh, ICT ministry), Ghulam Sumdany Don (founder and CEO, Don Sumdany Facilitation and Consultancy), Abdul Muqit Ahmed (director, Banglalink Digital Communications Limited), Bijon Islam (CEO, Light Castle Partners), Nahian Rahman Rochie (senior corporate finance manager, BAT), Sumit Saha (co-founder, Analyzen), Syed Ibrahim Saajid (manager, Bkash Limited), Zafir Shafiee Chowdhury (co-founder, Singularity and Bondstein) and Ayesha Sayeed (head of Talent Management, Banglalink Digital Communications Limited).

The winning team will receive certificates signed by the chief guest, Ahmad Ashkar, founder and CEO of Hult Prize Foundation.
