Ruling Awami League presidium member and member of parliament Mohammed Nasim was admitted to a hospital and tested COVID-19 positive on Monday.
The former health minister was taken to Bangladesh Specialised Hospital in the morning as his condition deteriorated, Nasim’s son Tanvir Shakil Joy told New Age.
He said that all of their family members tested negative four days ago at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University Hospital, but the condition of his father deteriorated on Monday morning.
The hospital authority collected sample of Nasim for COVID-19 test for the second time and it found positive, Tanvir said. He added that his 74-year-old father had been suffering from different health complications, including high diabetes.
