Beximco Group founder and chairman Ahmed Sohail Fasihur Rahman, along with his wife, left Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka for UK Friday afternoon on a chartered flight in the shutdown situation for COVID-19 outbreak, airport officials confirmed.

The HSIA director Group Captain AHM Touhid-ul Ahsan said that a chartered flight left Dhaka on Friday afternoon but not sure about its passengers.

One of his Beximco colleagues said that the company’s chairman with her wife left Dhaka for UK as their daughter there was expecting baby and they wanted to stay beside her during the delivery.

Earlier on Thursday, former foreign minister M Morshed Khan along with his wife left Dhaka on a chartered flight for the United Kingdom amid his travel ban sought by the Anti-Corruption Commission in 2019 over a corruption case, according to HSIA officials.
