The Bangladesh embassy in Libya collected names, mostly nick names, of 23 of the 26 Bangladesh nationals who were murdered in a gun attack by an armed group of Libya on Thursday.
The 23 were Arfan of Dhaka district, Lal Chand of Magura, Rakibul of Jessore, Kamrul and Sujon of Gopalganj, Mohammad Ali, Sohag, Akash, Sakib Mia, Shakil, Rajon and Rahim of Kishorganj, Jewel, Manik, Asadul, Ainal Molla, Zakir Hossain, Monir, Sajib, Shahin, Jewel (2), Firoz and Shamim of Madaripur, according to a list forwarded by the embassy to the foreign ministry in Dhaka.
The embassy also collected names of 11 Bangladesh people who were injured in the attack — Bappi Mia and Mohammad Bakul Hossain of Chuadanga, Mohammad Tarikul Islam of Magura, Omar Sheikh of Gopalganj, Mohammad Samrat Khalashi, Mohammad Sazid, Mohammad Ali and Firoz Bapari of Madaripur, Shohag Ahmed, Mohammad Sajal Mia and Mohammad Zanu Mia of Kishorganj,
Another Bangladesh citizen Sayedul Islam of Madaripur escaped unhurt in the incident.
Bangladesh ambassador to Libya Sk Sekander Ali told New Age that the government would verify the identity of the deceased and injured for ensuring steps needed.
