Jatiya Oikya Front leaders in a statement on Tuesday wished early recovery of its leader and Ganasasthya Kendra founder Zafrullah Chowdhury who was tested positive for COVID-19 on Sunday.
JOF leaders said that freedom fighter Zafrullah tested positive for COVID-19 through using GR COVID-19 Dot Blot kit, developed by Ganasasthya Kendra, and hoped that he would get well soon.
They said that they were observing that there were irregularities in providing treatment to the COVID-19 patients and that if Zafrullah’s condition become critical, the state should take initiatives to provide the freedom fighter with highest possible treatment at the highest quality hospital in the country.
The JOF leaders said that he had high risk of COVID-19 infection as he had been working with the COVID-19 test kit developed by Ganosasthya; but the government did not allow to bring the kit to the market hindering the trial process.
If the kit came to market, it would help people as there was the scarcity of imported COVID-19 test kits, they said and demanded that the government should take a decision in this regard as soon as possible.
The leaders who made the statement are Gano Forum president Kamal Hossain, BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal president ASM Abdur Rob, BNP standing committee member Abdul Moyeen Khan, Nagarik Oikya convener Mahmudur Rahman Manna, Gano Forum general secretary Reza Kibria and Bikalpa Dhara Bangladesh faction chairman Nurul Amin Byapari.
