Singers Fatema Jahangir Julee and Nirjher Chowdhury have paid tribute to National poet Kazi Nazrul Islam and Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore recording a music video comprising songs of the two bards.

Julee has rendered Nazrul song Mor Ghumo Ghore Ele Monohor and Nirjher has sung Tagore song Amar Mon Kemon Kore in the music video, which was recorded marking the birth anniversaries of Kazi Nazrul Islam and Rabindranath Tagore. It will be released on the eve of the 121th birth anniversary of Nazrul, which will be celebrated on May 25.

‘Nirjher and I went to Chhayanaut where I learnt Nazrul song and Nirjher studied Tagore song. We have always wanted to work together. So we decided to launch a music video marking the birth anniversaries of Kazi Nazrul Islam and Rabindranath Tagore. Nazrul’s birth anniversary will be celebrated on May 25 and Tagore’s birthday was celebrated on May 8. The music video pays tribute to both poets. It will be launched on the eve of Nazrul’s birth anniversary on my YouTube channel named Julee Official,’ Fatema Jahangir Julee told New Age.

The video was shot recently. Both Julee and Nirjher recorded the songs at their homes and sent the videos to Balam.

‘We shot the videos at our homes and sent those to my brother Balam. He composed and edited the music video. I hope viewers will enjoy it and give me valuable feedback,’ added Julee.
