The Metropolitan Chamber of Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Dhaka has given donations to the frontline workers who were providing necessary services to fight the coronavirus outbreak in the country, said a press release.
As part of the initiative, MCCI handed over 50,000 surgical masks to the representatives of the police force on May 19.
The masks were handed over in accordance with the social distancing guidelines of the World Health Organisation and the health ministry.
The chamber also provided financial assistance to the Sajida Foundation, a member of MCCI, to procure personal protective equipment and other medical equipment to serve coronavirus patients during the pandemic.
Many MCCI member organisations like the Sajida Foundation were playing an active role in the fight against novel coronavirus through distribution of food, financial aid, hand sanitisers and other aid materials. — New Age
