The Bangladesh Football Federation on Wednesday abandoned its second-tier professional football competition 2019-20 Bangladesh Championship League due to coronavirus pandemic.BFF took the decision in a virtual meeting between BFF’s professional football league committee and the participating club representatives. ‘After a discussion with all the participating clubs, the meeting unanimously agreed to cancel this season’s championship league,’ said BFF senior vice-president and PFLC chairman Abdus Salam Murshedy after the meeting. The 13-team second-tier league was expected to begin at the Bir Shrestha Shaheed Shipahi Mostafa Kamal Stadium in Kamalapur from June 15. — New Age
