Gonoshasthaya Kendra founder Zafrullah Chowdhury on Monday blamed Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University for making delay in starting the performance trial of their COVID-19 test kit.
The criticism came as BSMMU was yet to start the trial of the COVID-19 test kit, developed by Gonoshasthaya Kendra, though 12 days had elapsed since they were assigned to the task by the drug administration.
Gonoshasthaya Kendra was supposed to hand over the kit to the BSMMU authorities Monday afternoon for the performance trial but the official procedure was yet to be completed by the BSMMU, said a GK official.
In a briefing later on the day, Zafrullah said that their team went to BSMMU but they did not receive the kit.
He said that their team had been meeting the BSMMU-formed committee for the last few days, but the BSMMU authorities did not ask for the kit.
The kit development programme coordinator, Muhib Ullah Khondokar, said that they needed a document based on which they could provide the kit for the trial, but the BSMMMU authorities were not giving them the document.
