BRAC Bank contributed 6,000 sets of CE-certified personal protective equipment to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University on Monday.
This is part of the bank’s efforts to protect the country’s brave frontline health workers fighting the COVID-19 pandemic, said a press release.
The sets include medical safety gears N95 masks, goggles, shoe covers, hand gloves and head shields each, imported from China with the assistance of MBM Group.
The PPE will be used in the intensive care unit of BSMMU to treat the coronavirus patients.
Receiving the items, Professor Kanak Kanti Barua, vice-chancellor of BSMMU, expressed the hospital’s appreciation to BRAC Bank for the support. Kamran Sadiq, director of MBM Group, was also present during the handover.
Earlier, BRAC Bank contributed Tk 5 crore to prime minister’s relief fund and their employees made a gift of Tk 1.73 crore from their April salary to BRAC’s emergency food assistance fund.
