Four of a family including Indonesian woman found dead in Gazipur

The throat-slit bodies of four members of a Malaysian expatriate’s family were found at their residence in Zainabazar area of Shreepur in Gazipur Thursday afternoon.

The deceased were identified as Smrity Fatema 45, an Indonesian citizen and wife of Redoyan Hossain Kajal, a Malaysian expatriate from Golabari village in Langair union of Gafargaon upazila in Mymensingh, her eldest daughter Sabria Sultana Nura, 16, youngest daughter Haorin Howa 12, and challenged son Fadil, 8.

They had been living in the house that was built on a piece of land they had bought 15 years ago.

Expatriate Kajal’s younger brother Arif said that his elder brother Kajal had been living in Malaysia for last six years and his brother had no enemies.

Earlier his brother Kajal went to Indonesia and stayed there around 16 years. During his stay, Kajal got married to Fatema about 20 years ago there and returned to the country with his wife. After returning, Kajal started cloth trading and bought a piece of land in Shreepur area.

He built a two-storied building and lived there along with his family. Later, Kajal went to Malaysia six years ago as he faced difficulty to continue his business in the country.

‘Their throat-slit bodies were found in their home at about 3:00pm,’ said Ekhlas Faraji, sub-inspector of Shreepur police station. 

He said that the women might have been killed after rape.

Officer in-charge of Shreepur police station Liakat Ali said on information police recovered the bodies and sent those to Gazipur Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed Medical College Hospital morgue for post-mortem examination.
