China Railway Group Limited on Tuesday donated personal protective equipment and other safety gears to Kurmitola General Hospital and Combined Military Hospital for helping Bangladesh to fight against Covid-19 pandemic.

China Railway Group Limited (known as CREC) donated 10,080 N95 particulate respirators, 40,000 disposable surgical masks, 1,000 medical protection gowns, 400 medical goggles, and 500 COVID-19 detection kits to the hospitals in a programme at the CREC office in the city’s Baridhara.

Wang Kun, representative of CREC, handed over the kits to Colonel Iqbal Bahar Chowdhury, representing Bangladesh Army and Lieutenant Colonel Abdul Wahab, assistant director of Kurmitola General Hospital.

Wang Kun said this was the first batch of PPE that CREC was donating to Bangladesh and would provide more assistance to fight back COVID-19 in Bangladesh.

Both Colonel Iqbal Bahar Chowdhury and Lieutenant Colonel Abdul Wahab expressed their gratitude to CREC for the assistance.

CREC is the contractor of Padma Bridge Rail Link and the mother company of the contractor of Padma Multipurpose Bridge Project.

According to a press release of the CREC, the implementation of both the Padma Bridge Rail Link Project and the Padma Multipurpose Bridge Project remained uninterrupted despite the coronavirus pandemic.
