Bangladesh Nationalist Party on Monday alleged that the local leaders of ruling Awami League were preparing partisan lists of beneficiaries for distributing relief at this time of shutdown.
The party senior joint-secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, in an online press conference from the party central office in the capital’s Naya Paltan, also alleged that the local AL leaders were also stealing the rice meant for distributing among the poor.
‘Different news media published reports that Awami League local leaders were distributing government rice among their own people in Dhaka and elsewhere in the country…. Rice meant for distributing among the poor under vulnerable group feeding and for relief are being recovered from the warehouses of many of them,’ he said.
He said that the AL leaders were not following their party president and prime minister Sheikh Hasina’s order not to do any irregularity in implementing any programme.
